Top Entering Agitators are the most frequently used type of agitators. The drive unit is located on top of the closed or open tank, and rotates the impeller (or impellers) by means of a vertical shaft.

Rotating speed plus type and diameter of impeller(s) are chosen by biodesulf to fulfil the required process results for each application. Also, the length of the shaft makes it necessary to calculate and avoid the critical rpm for each agitator design.

The most common design is one bottom propeller mounted to the end of the shaft, positioned at a specific distance (depending on the application) above the bottom of the tank. For special applications multiple impellers may be mounted on the same shaft.
